The result is an even more stable kite, faster in the big sizes and slower in the small ones, with an incredible amount of power and easiness to ride “unhooked”. Twice World Champ Seb Garat thoughts about the 2009 RRD Obsession The new Obsession is an Evolution of the Type 9. Of course it’s a freestyle Kite. And it’s also the best for Waveriding. The Obsession has a Supported Leading Edge that gives to this Kite an amazing depowerability. It turns fast, and that’s is good for the big Sizes like 15 and 12. This year comes a new Size : 10,5. This is the Size that will fit most of the conditions. This size give a good power, and you can keep it up to 25 – 30 knots. The smalls sizes are a bit slower, so they have a perfect manoeuvrability. Thanks to the Obsession, it’s possible to make all the New School Freestyle Tricks. With the perfect setting, you have nearly the same feeling than a C-Kite. The Water re-launch of the Obsession has been improved from the previous Type 9, as the Leading edge is slightly inspired from the Delta Shape.
