First up in AXIS' latest lineup is the re-hauled carbon masts, the AXIS Foils Power Carbon Mast and the Power Carbon High Modulus Mast, including a new stiffer model. The fiber found in the High Modulus version is the stiffest and strongest you'll find used in regular constructions. And like their older model, these new ones are a 'one-piece design' -- you don't need a base plate or fuselage adapter (the "doodad") to connect these to your rig. They also come with a mast bag!
Black Advance Fuselage - designed for those who prone, SUP or wake foil and want to push the limits. These new fuselages have their mast position moved forward by 40mm. This makes your rig turn tighter and connects more waves. These also come with their own fuselage bag.
Progressive Rear Wings - their fleet of rear wings keeps growing, with new additions to the progressive rear wings to combine excellent speed with amazing turning.
Board Bags - AXIS branded board bags are here! Designed to fit your AXIS board they are durable and robust! It's got lots of handles, ventilation and padding. Available for purchase with your AXIS Froth or Pump foilboard.

Wing surfing is the sport of riding a foil board - or a standard SUP - while carrying a hand-held inflatable sail.
If you want to take your foiling (of any style) to the next level, you have to pick up a wing surfer!
What looks essentially like a LEI (leading edge inflatable) kite cut in half, with handles sew into the struts, you can glide wherever you want. No experience in windsurfing or kitesurfing is necessary. No hard booms, no 4-line kite messes, this sail is light weight and crazy maneuverable.
This wing isn't limited to just foiling, it can work with stand up paddle boards, windsurf boards and kiteboards. You only need about 12knots of wind and its actually better to not use these in crazy high winds.
The inventor of the Slingwing puts it this way:
The Slingwing by Slingshot is not designed to replace windsurfing or kitesurfing. You may not sail as fast, jump as high, or hit the lip as hard… However there is beauty in the simplicity…and enough potential in the performance and accessibility. The thrill to safety ration is really high. This makes it an absolute blast and a great addition/compliment/alternative to these awesome foiling sports. -Tony Logosz, Slingwing Inventor
Wing surfers are relatively safe compared to kitesurfing, and with a much easier learning curve. Check out our selection of fun in our Wing Surfer collection
]]>Gone is the hard, cold, heavy metal bar. It’s been replaced by a fiber-injected, 3D modeled bar that’s incredibly lightweight, slim and ergonomic.
The buckle system is a type we’ve never seen before. No pins, no buttons, instead you engage in a lever that cinches your straps tight. It’s easier on the fingers by a long shot, more comfortable on the hands after a long session that might have them a little sore.
This new spreader bar from Mystic comes in 2 styles, hooked and surf as well as different sizes to suit the rider’s frame.
We tried these on in the shop and we’re very impressed by how little it rides up. We have a line set up to a strong wall that we can hook into and really lean back and get a feel for a harness and bar. When you’re in the “Stimulator 3000” you can go into a low squat as if to simulate the upward pull of the kite and see how far the bar pad travels. If you’re nearby you’re welcome to stop in and check it out yourself.

If AXIS Foils has proven anything, its that there's nothing you can't foil!
With a strong reputation built in kitesurf foiling years ago, they've expanded their expertise to all sports, surf foiling, stand up paddle foiling, wake foil, pump foil, wind foil, and downwind foiling!
There's no conditions off-limits to you now. No wind? No problem, bring out your AXIS SUP or Surf Carbon Foil board, throw on your favorite mast, choose your wing for your conditions and now you're flying down waves, pumping to the next swell in an epic downwinder. These foils are also perfect for lakes, towed behind your boat wake!
The great thing about AXIS Foils is that their parts are more or less compatible across all sports. You can use your masts that you have from kitesurfing to SUP foil or surf foil with. Talk to us about what size wings is best for which activity.
In general, the more forward momentum that is provided for you, the smaller the wing you need. For example, kitesurfing uses small wings because the kite is pulling you forward, so the foil wing doesn't have to work as hard. SUP foiling, a majority of momentum is generated by how hard you paddle, or how big, power the waves/water is you're riding. To make it easier on you and the elements they make the wings bigger.
Small airplanes need small wings, big airplanes need big wings.
For masts, think about how hard it would be to stand on a 3' tall piece of 2x4 wood vs a 6" tall piece of 2x4. The longer the stick, the more room to wobble around. We generally learn on shorter masts (45cm or so) to sense how the boards feel under our feet and then progress to longer masts and feel the height difference.
The sport of foiling is growing and changing every day, so hit us up with any questions. The world is your oyster and we can make sure you're out there foiling it no matter what the conditions are.
We've expanded our menu on the left to include all the foil goodies. Its pretty extensive.

]]>Ozone has released a new kite, the Amp V1. This C style kite is designed to be predictable and adaptable. From Ozone:
The AMP V1 represents a new paradigm in c-kite design. It is a progressive yet user-friendly freestyle and park-style kite, offering amateur to pro the response, feedback and control needed to take their riding to the next level.
The design team focused on creating a kite that was both predictable and adaptable for hooked and un-hooked riding. The AMP has been developed to grow with you; no longer are the progressive kites for just the Professionals!
Whether you’re learning your first un-hooked raley, boosting kite loops, or styling out advanced park and freestyle manoeuvers, the AMP will keep you in control with the highest level of feedback, predictable turning speed and a similar feeling precisely tuned across all sizes. It is ultra smooth to fly and provides inspirational confidence to go for it!
The AMP features three unique and easily interchangeable performance settings to compliment your skill set and riding needs:
4-Line Bridle Mode Setting 1 – Freeride / Freestyle / Kite Loop
4-Line Bridle Mode Setting 2 – Unhooked Freestyle / Park
5-Line Mode – Unhooked Freestyle / Park (Advanced)
Backline adjustments allow you to further tune the AMP to your personal preference. The attachment closest to the trailing edge provides lighter bar pressure and a faster turn speed. The attachment closest to the leading edge provides heavier bar pressure and a slower turn speed.
There’s no need to feel left behind, join the progression and stay AMP’d!

These things are mesmerizing. I wonder what kind of crazy things we could do with that and a kite? Hmmm?

]]>Our local SFBA (San Francisco Boardsailing Association) just put together a great guide to catching kitesurfing sessions here during the off-season.
[....The end of the season really just means the wind becomes more unpredictable. The wind we do get tends to be pre-frontal storm generated wind from the South and post storm "clearing" North West winds. We also occasionally get wind that blows from the E or NE wind. These winds tend to be gusty and intense at most bay spots.
A good rule of thumb to follow for safe sailing is the "100 degree rule." This means the air temperature plus the water temperature should be greater than or equal to 100 degrees F to be sailed comfortably. One of the biggest things you have to watch out for in cold water sailing is hypothermia. Hypothermia is a general cooling of the entire body.....]

]]>For 2019 AXIS has a new collection of foil boards called the Minimal Volume (MV).
It’s truly revolutionary and unique. The AXIS MV foil boards leverage our proven twin tip construction with Paulownia wood core and carbon reinforcements on both top and bottom of the board. ABS rails strengthen the rails. The bottom of the board features foiling specific beveled rails, a wide carbon reinforcement in the middle of the board, and incredibly stiff construction for direct feel and foil response. This is not your beginner flexible wood board that flops around loosing it’s rocker like and flex while foiling. This is a high performance board, that gives you an incredibly direct feel under your feet, which is what you want when you are foiling.
The finish of the board has plush EVA foam covering the complete top deck of the board, with our signature circular graphics both on the top and bottom of the board. Construction photo of the bottom of the board shows what’s behind the beautiful graphics.
We make 3 different models on the AXIS Foil MV Collection.
Ride MV (145 x 45cm) 90mm Plate
Free MV (125 x 45cm) 90mm Plate
Kink MV (105 x 45cm) 90mm Plate and Tuttle mount
We chose 45cm width across all the models as we have found that it is an ideal all round width for both beginner / intermediate and freestylers alike.
The Ride MV has plenty of volume to get any level of rider up and going. It’s also a very strong board that can take more abuse than the traditional foil boards on the market. So great for beginner riders, who are not as efficient with their gear. The Ride MV is also ideal for boat foilers, wake foilers etc.
The Free MV and Kink MV are smaller, with less volume and are designed for freestyle junkies who live to 180-360 and cruise around without much touching down.
