Foil Drive Gen 2.5 is here: the MAX+, FM+ batteries and a free Fusion upgrade
Foil Drive's Gen 2.5 range landed last night, and it is on our shelves and in our shop now. If you have been asking us which Foil Drive to buy, or whether to upgrade the one you have, this is the update we have been waiting to talk to you about.
The Assist MAX+: the all-rounder, now with more of everything
The MAX+ replaces the MAX. Foil Drive have taken the best of the Fusion and packed it into the MAX's compact size, with about 20% more power and runtime. For most of the riders who come through our door, the ones who want to get up easily, link bumps on flat days, catch more waves or paddle out without the paddle, this is now the one we point to first.
You can buy the Assist MAX+ on its own, or as a complete bundle with an AXIS integrated mast. As an AXIS dealer we can put the mast in the box: aluminium, High Modulus carbon, Ultra High Modulus carbon, or the Power Carbon FATTY e-foil mast. One order, one delivery, everything bolts together.
FM+ batteries: one battery for the MAX+ and the Fusion
Gen 2.5 moves to a 43 volt system, which gives a punchier power delivery and lets you run the battery deeper before it tails off. The new FM+ 650 is out now and works in both the MAX+ and the Fusion, so if you and a friend ride different units you can now share batteries. A smaller FM+ 430 follows in early 2027. Fusion owners can run the FM+ with the FM+ Battery Adaptor.
Already ride a Fusion? You just got 10% more power, free
Foil Drive have released a free power upgrade for the Fusion through the Foil Drive app: about 10% more thrust, delivered as an update. Open or update the app and follow the prompt. If you get stuck, bring it by the shop or call us and we will walk you through it.
Motors
Motors are now sold as Retro-fit kits: the High Power and the Standard. If you are not sure which suits your board, foil and riding, ask us. That is what we are here for.
